A Salsa Mukluk and Surly Moonlander - post beach ride.

We are delighted to announce that we are now official suppliers of Surly and Salsa – makers of the famous Pugsley and Mukluk fatbikes.

If you have yet to hear about fatbikes, you soon will – especially if you are a regular visitor to the East Lothian coastline. Essentially fatbikes have earned their portly moniker through the ridiculously oversized tyres and rims they carry, allowing for massively increased flotation over normally unrideable terrain. Think biking on sand, snow, rocks… basically anyhere you have always wanted to ride but have had to strike from your mind! Exciting no?

We have a demo Pugsley in store to come and ogle at/have a go on and some very exciting upcoming fatbike-related news we’re struggling to keep a lid on – watch this space…

Giant’s New Click And Collect Service Makes Bike Buying Easier Than Ever

If you’re a regular visitor to these parts, you may have noticed a shiny new button has appeared in the top right-hand corner of our site. Clicking on this button now takes you directly to Giant’s online bike store, where it’s entire 2012 catalogue (road, MTBs, hybrid and electric bikes) is now available to purchase.

Yeah, so what? It’s not like they’re reinventing the wheel, online bike shops have been around for donkey’s years – I hear you say…

Well, this is different. Giant have teamed up with all of the local bike shops it supplies in order to offer a service whereby you buy the bike online, it’s delivered to OUR door, we build and service it (at no extra cost), and you collect it when ready. Brilliant huh!

So if you’ve always been put off buying a bike online due to the risk it may have been damaged in transit, arrives in bits for you to put together yourself, or the additional cost of taking that boxed bike to your local bike shop to be properly built up – then why not try this new service which combines the best part of buying online (the choice available) with the best part of buying in person (the knowledge that it’s been put together by a professional who is accountable to you).

We’ve decided to join the social media revolution and have hitched a lift on Mark Zuckerberg’s big blue bus. All Aboard!
